Large Intentions Small Resources
Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, has quite a few very attractive schemes for technology development and commercialization by individuals and industry. However most of these schemes have got a few takers owing to, and one of the largest reason being, the non-availability of any linkages between the small industry / individuals and the government. APTDC, an autonomous institution promoted by CII, TIFAC & AP Govt. has done an exemplary job in supporting individual innovators for filing IP Applications :
APTDC Supports Individual Innovators
1. Self Power Generatorn : An Invention developed by a Physically Handicapped Person
2. Automatic Cradle Motion Device : An Invention filed by a House Wife
3.A Mobile air pump for Motorbikes : An Invention filed by two unemployed youths.
Mechanisms such as APTDC could be duplicated in other parts of the country and used as a link between innovators and the government support mechanisms. A good example has already been started by the Textile Committee, Ministry of Textiles (see attached press-clipping)
Wish you a very Happy, Healthy, Wealthy & Innovative New Year 2006 & beyond.
