Bird Flu

The recent sense of urgency and concern among the world countries is the spread of bird flu. Although spread of the virus from bird to human is difficult under given conditions, World Health Organisation (WHO) is planning to overcome such a disaster. In India there is growing concern considering our health infrastructure facilities. Adding to this concern, a parliament bill passed early this year prohibits manufacturing of low cost generic version of patented drugs such as Tamiflu available for treating this virus by the Indian firms. This is the time for our Indian Industry to come forward to fight this impeding menace.
